Well, I’ve started my first online business. It’s nothing fancy, but I’m very excited.
It feels good to actually see something that I’ve worked on from the ground up, and completed.Well, there are a few tweaks I would still like to make, but it’s basically done.
You can check it out at FreeWordPressInstall.com.
Here’s what I’m doing:
I’m installing and setting up WordPress blogs. For free. I’m doing this for free because in order to take advantage of my service, people will need to sign up for web hosting through my affiliate link. The payouts in the hosting industry are excellent.
I had this blog set up by a service very similar to the one I’m starting, so things have really come full circle for me. I know that there is a market for this type of service, because I was once the customer. Now I just have to put my marketing skills to use.
I’m not doing any type of customization or design services for WordPress. Just simple installations and setups for first time WP users. I’ll leave the design and custom stuff to the smart people :-)
It’s simple, but hey, I’m a simple guy.
On Friday I’m going to be posting more about why I started this business and some of the logic behind the decisions I’ve made when getting it up and running. The post will be called An Example of Jobstyle Design. Note: John Bardos from Jet Set Citizen coined the phrase “Jobstyle Design,” and I love it.
So what’s next for me?
I’m going to be starting some websites. I’ve got a few niches in mind, so I’ll be getting started on those as early as this afternoon (I have trouble not doing anything!).
My goal is to eventually outsource everything that goes into these sites. Making affiliate income and checking my email once a day to see how my content writers and link builders are doing sounds great to me. Next week I will be explaining more about my strategy behind these niche websites.
What you could do for me…
I appreciate the fact that you are even reading this post right now, and that’s really all I can ask. But… If you feel like being extra generous today, maybe you could send out a quick Tweet about my new business. Getting some business on the first day would bring me to a whole new level on the excitement meter :-)
One last thing…
I honestly would have never done this if it wasn’t for you. I have gained so much inspiration from those of you who take the time to comment on posts here, and to say hello on Twitter. Also, reading all the brilliant posts that the entrepreneurship/lifestyle design community puts out there on a daily basis kept me very confident in what I was trying to accomplish.
So thanks. I mean it.
get free updates when I post again by rss or by email. if you really want to make my day then you can share this post with your network. you rock.

It’s good to hear that you’ve taken the plunge! Pretty genius idea too, way easier to outsource than WordPress customization. I can’t wait to hear more about it and to see how it goes.
Congratulations!
Thanks J.D.!
Excellent! Stick with it and don’t get frustrated if it doesn’t go the way you want it to at all times. You’ll do great at it.
James, thanks for the encouraging words! That’s just the stuff I need to hear.
Hi Nate,
Good business model! I hope your jobstyle design efforts are wildly successful! :-)
Thanks John! I certainly wouldn’t mind wildly successful :-)
Congrats Nate! Hope everything goes well for ya!
Yes! Can’t wait to see updates, Nate. It’s a great, scalable, potentially fully-automated idea. I just reread 4HWW, and this launch of yours fits the mold.
Best of luck, chat soon!
Alan
Thanks Tammy and Alan.
And yes, 4HWW was strong in my mind when coming up with this idea :-)
