So you have a super cool internet business…
You have your message perfected, you know what your customers want, you know where to find them…
But it stops at that. Business is good, but could it be better?
I’ve been reading and thinking about something very interesting lately. I think that doing the things that your customers do is important. Join their communities, take part in the discussions they have. Don’t stand off to the side and advertise at them all day.
Blend in, be a chameleon. Just thought of the old BUD–WEIS–ER chameleons and how much I miss them. Anyway! Back to the topic…
New celebrities are joining Twitter every day. They are doing it because their big fancy PR people are advising them to do it. Why? Are people going to like a celebrity who lives in their own little world and appears every couple of months in a new movie, or are they going to love a celebrity that does the exact same things they do?
Normal people love famous people who do what normal people do. Wow, that’s a mouthful right there.
This idea can translate to any type of business; online or offline. You might not be famous, but you get the point here.
What do you think about this?

Nate, this is solid logic, if you ask me. According to Dale Carnegie, ‘people like people who are like themselves.’ The approach you’re talking about is a great way to start, if you have no other plan…you really can’t go wrong with it, IMO.
I had never heard of that quote from Carnegie before, it’s great.
