holy crap it’s been a while

February 9, 2010

It’s been over a month since I’ve posted anything here, so I thought I’d give y’all a little update.

1. I’m still alive and kicking.

2. The reason for the lack in posting is that I’m trying to prioritize what I need to do in order to get things on my list crossed off.

I could write self-improvement-y posts and probably get by, but that just isn’t my thing. There are other people who are much better at that. I don’t want to add to the clutter that is already taking over the blogosphere.

SO, what the hell have I been doing?

I’ve been working my ass off. I’ve created 4 niche websites, worked to outsource link building for them, and I’ve been adding content like a mad man.

Also, I’ve put together a 70 page eBook on how to boost metabolism naturally and I’ve written a sales page for it (WAY more work than I thought it would be). I’m currently working on finishing the bonuses for that product and then it will launch.

It’s been fun trying to figure out what is going to distinguish me from the rest of the pack in the overcrowded weight loss niche, but I think I’ve found my groove. Speaking of weight loss, my buddy J. D. Bentley just wrote a book of his own, I’ve read it, and it’s freakin’ awesome, check it out.

The priority for me right now is creating an income that can get me away from this ball and chain job. After that happens, the fun will really start here. I want this blog to be wildly successful, but I have to do some things before I can really pursue that.

I can’t tell other people about lifestyle design when I haven’t yet designed my own perfect life.

So that’s an update for ya. I’m on Twitter all the time so make sure you say hi.

Oh, and I’m planning to do some video posts in the future with book reviews, updates of my progress things like that. Those are easy to do and will fill the void in a way that I don’t think is detrimental to the blog world and the feed readers of you ever so kind people.

PEACE.

Nate….awesome man!! I’m tyring to figure out the same thing, although it looks like you’re quite a bit ahead of me, which is great!

I’ve cut back on my posts and am focusing more on business and money related ideas. Sure, I could write about PD and Lifestyle Design as well, but there’s already so many people doing that and I’d rather focus on some other things….mainly, like you, making some income online.

I’m glad to hear you’re making progress and it sounds like you’re working in some niches that you care about and have expertise in. Great to get this update!

Hey nate!
I thought you may have been kidnapped! Good to hear that you are working so hard! I hope that the hard work pays off and that your products will bring you in some good $$ :)

I’ve also started writing my first ebook product and I can tell you it is indeed a long process.

I like JD’s page a lot, the design looks fresh and professional so I hope for him that he does well with it!

Keep well sir and keep in touch!

I don’t think anyone ever conquers “lifestyle design” and your sentiments on the matter are always appreciated.

Hey Nate,

Glad to hear from you! I definitely agree with “walking the walk before talking the talk” of lifestyle design. Kind of leaves you in a conundrum as to what to post though, doesn’t it?

Anyway, just wanted to let you know that’s I’m always reading your stuff, regardless of the topic. :)

Thanks!

@ Nate – It’s good that you are focusing on the income too! You’re actually still posting great articles though, I can’t manage to do both (bad multitasker?). Thanks for the comment and I’ll be in touch.

@ Diggy – Good to hear you’ve started an ebook! It’s a fun process for sure. Now that you’re back home I’m sure your IM stuff will really ramp up. Plus, you have a killer mentor in Glen. Thanks for saying hi :-)

@ Aaron – You’re right, nobody really conquers lifestyle design, it’s a constant and never ending process I think. I just want to be in a more secure place where I feel comfortable dishing out information about it. And thanks for the kind words man, I appreciate it.

@ Andrew – Good to hear from you man. And yup, I’m just trying to walk the walk! Hope all is well.

Nate,

Even though your blog may be about lifestyle design, I don’t actually read it for that reason. I read it because I enjoy “seeing” you go through the transition from where you are to where you want to be…like what Tammy and I are doing. I think it’s so great to “experience” someone else’s successes and victories with him. Plus, you observe life and share your observations, which I enjoy too.

Like you, I’ve had to prioritize my life so that I’m moving forward toward the most important thing. As you know, Tammy and I are trying to get something going so we can cut the chains of our day jobs as well. This week, I worked 18 hours of overtime, and I’ve been working a lot of overtime for the last month, which makes it so much harder to progress on the business end of things. Working 58 hours per week and starting a business doesn’t mix very well. So I’ve had to cut back on extraneous blog posts and focus more on getting my new blog up and running along with my business. Tough situation, for sure.

Congrats on all your progress! I can’t wait to hear about your official launch. Update us when you can.

Cheers, Mate!
