Marketing will change in the near future. People are getting fed up with the way things are right now, and a select few are finding new ways to market their products and services.
Relationships are so important. Seth Godin recently wrote a post about how you should get a product to ten people, if they love it then they will pass it on to 10 others. Those people will then tell 10 others.
If you can build up a solid base of people who you have a good relationship with, the opportunities in front of you are endless. This is especially true with the massive blogosphere we now have. It’s possible to create great relationships with other bloggers in your niche through blog comments, guest posts, Facebook, and Twitter.
One guy who has used this idea of building a business around relationships better than anyone is Chris Guillebeau. He has a fantastic blog if you haven’t checked it out yet.
Chris just released his 279 Days To Overnight Success Manifesto. I recommend that you check it out. Basically he talks about how he created a full time income from his blog in just 279 days.
He just launched this thing recently and it has been a massive success for him. The reason why it did so well is because Chris has created unbelievable relationships with some very key people in his niche, and other niches.
He got these relationships by taking the time to respond to basically every email, blog comment, and tweet that he has received. He has responded to several messages I have send him on Twitter. Now, he spends a ton of time doing this stuff, but it really pays off for him. Also, he produces very high quality content that his readers love.
Probably the biggest focus for the business/blog that I am going to be starting in August is building relationships. I’ve learned this great lesson from watching the best.
Apply this to whatever your online or offline venture may be and you’re bound to see good results.
