What have you done today?

Some days I lose track of time. I’m sure you do too. I turn on King of Queens, which then turns into Everybody Loves Raymond, which then turns into Seinfeld. Then I eat dinner and watch Family Guy. Come on you know you love Family Guy.
 
Before I know it I am getting a little on the sleepy side.
 
I look at my laptop and get a slap in the face from good ol’ reality. I didn’t do anything today to get closer to my ultimate goal of working for myself. Man, I’m a loser (I guess my ex was right after all… long story there :-))
 
At this point I get access to caffeine in some form or another and get to work. Some Twitter interaction, a blog post, some blog commenting, and some link building efforts on my side project and I’ve done something worthwhile.
 
What have you done today to get closer to your dream? If your answer is nothing, then grab your favorite energy drink and get your butt in gear. Trust me you will feel better after.

It’s so true…so many people get lost in their daily routine then complain that nothing ever changes. When I find myself stuck in a routine and complaining about it, I hear a voice in my head saying, “I got some bad news for you, unless you change your routine, nothing’s ever gonna change!”

So I’m left asking myself, “How important are my goals in the first place?” Reaching for a big goal shouldn’t be something to avoid. So I think you’re right on target. I totally agree… “grab your favorite energy drink and get your butt in gear.” :-)
