why, and who?

Hi there. My name is Nate Damm (pronounced more like Domm) and this is my blog. You can read my life to-do list here.

I’m on Twitter: @whereisnate
Email: thewaythatyouwander [@] gmail dot com

I’m currently walking across America. You can follow my progress at NateWalksAmerica.com.

What’s the evolution of awesome? In my personal quest to live a more awesome life, I’m noticing huge changes in myself and also people I interact with. Shorter interactions are having bigger meanings, having less actually means having more, big changes are happening in smaller amounts of time, and in turn that time becomes our most valuable asset.

I think that everyone should be creating as much as possible, and this is my way of doing that in my life. I write here to create and to connect with people like you.

I consider myself a minimalist, but not in a pushy way. That means that I respect that people have the choice to live how they want, as long as it’s not harming anyone else. In fact, the way they are living should be helping others. If you want all the fancy things in the world and do things to maintain some type of status or supposed societal obligation, then that’s fine. However, I will say that I believe wholeheartedly that it’s a slippery slope.

I believe that if you don’t take the necessary time, steps and risks that come with figuring out exactly who you are and what YOU want, then you won’t ever reach your full potential. This can be some scary shit, but it’s worth it.

I put deep value on relationships, experiences and feeling like I’m doing something worthwhile. This is why I felt drawn to create my own minimalist philosophy. Relative simplicity, with my focus on the things that really matter to me.

I believe that time is our most valuable asset as humans. This naturally led me into a world of entrepreneurship and trying to create a situation where I can create an income on my own terms.

So there you have it. That’s why I write about what I write about. If you want to follow along on my journey, and hopefully pick up some tips and tricks for improving yours, then that would be great.

So, feel free to give me a shout on Twitter or email me at thewaythatyouwander @ gmail dot com. You can also subscribe (it’s free) to get updates whenever I post either by RSS or by email.

I would love to hear from you. Connecting with cool folks such as yourself is what I’m all about.

A bit about me: I live in Maine, I went to college but didn’t graduate, I enjoy really cheap beer, my friends are amazing (online & offline), I tweet way too much and in my spare time I like working on my small business, Nature Relaxing Sounds.
